Go to hotjar.com to copy the Tracking Code from the Hotjar admin
Paste the Tracking Code onto the pages of your website.
We recommend adding it to your website template so that it automatically goes into each page of your site.
Hotjar works most accurately if the Hotjar Tracking Code is in the Head tag (<head>) of every page you want to track on your site. This ensures that Hotjar will start tracking visitors as soon as possible.
Placing the Hotjar Tracking Code just before the closing Body tag (</body>) will also work. We only recommend doing this if you have a site which loads relatively fast. This is because placing the Tracking Code at the end of your page will cause our script to load only after all of your other assets (scripts and stylesheets) and site content have loaded. For relatively slower sites, this method of installation may result in your recordings missing some data since Hotjar would only start recording when the page has fully loaded.
Your Hotjar Tracking Code is now installed.
Once you have added the Hotjar Tracking Code to your site, you will need to wait a few minutes for Hotjar to check if it is installed correctly. This usually happens the moment your site is loaded with the Tracking Code on it - you can visit the page yourself to speed the process up. Once Hotjar has detected the Tracking Code on your site, the Site Dashboard will show a notice like the one below:
If after you install the Tracking Code, your website undergoes a major design change check to ensure your Tracking Code is still installed.
