Our Omniconvert integration supports Hotjar Recordings and Heatmaps. The integration allows you to connect your Omniconvert A/B test experiments to your Hotjar account. In order to use this integration, you will need an active Hotjar and Omnicovert account as well as be on one of our paid plans.
Turning on the integration
Navigate to your Omniconvert website menu and click on Integrations.
Activate the connection with Hotjar and click Save to finish.
Viewing your Recordings in Hotjar
Plus or Business are required for tagging Recordings with Omniconvert.
Enable the integration in Omniconvert and sign in to Hotjar
Once you have enabled the integration in Omniconvert and started the experiment, sign-in to your Hotjar account.
Select Recordings from your Hotjar dashboard.
Filter Recordings based on Tags.
Select the type of Omniconvert tag you wish to filter by. Omniconvert allows you to filter by experiment id, experiment name, variation id, or variation name.
Viewing your Heatmaps in Hotjar
Your Heatmaps may be based on continuous capture
If you are on a Hotjar Business or Plus plan, your Heatmaps are based on continuous capture by default. As we transition to Continuous Heatmaps, you will still have access to manual snapshot-based Heatmaps as well. Learn more about Continuous Heatmaps.
Select Heatmaps from your Hotjar dashboard.
Click New Heatmap.
Name your Heatmap report.
Select the Number of Pageviews for the Heatmap snapshot.
In the ENTER PAGE URL field make sure to enter “Omniconvert_ExperimentId_VariationId”.
In your Omniconvert account, the experiment id and variation id can be found in the statistics of the Experiments section.

Click Next, and publish your Heatmap.
