We know many of our users love spreading the word about Hotjar and each month we reward our top referrers with a few prizes.
Every team member is provided a unique referral link that is used to securely track your progress each month. Share your referral link with your friends, and we'll keep track of the rest.
The Prizes each month
We regularly talk to users about our referral prizes. We want to know what prize makes the most sense to you. That might be a financial incentive or perhaps free access to Hotjar.
At the moment, we’re experimenting with the prizes we’re offering. You might see different incentives than another user. Don’t worry—all the prizes are still worth winning!
To double-check which prizes apply to you, please look at the email we sent you regarding the referral program or take a look at the referral page on your Hotjar account. The email and referral page will always show the prizes that apply to you.
Our legacy referral program included the three prizes listed below. Some of you can still get these prizes, but others will have access to our new (secret) incentives instead.
- Top referrer receives a free Lifetime Hotjar Ask Business and Observe Business account
- Top 5 runner-ups receive a free Hotjar Hoodie
- Anyone who refers 5 valid friends will receive our official Hotjar t-shirt
Referrals will only count when the referred user subscribes to a paid plan
Referrals are only counted when the referred user signs up to a paid Hotjar account. Referrals that are still in trial will also not be counted. Referrals are only counted when the referred user finishes a trial and pays for a plan.
Leaderboard & referral link
To access the leader-board and your referral link click Settings followed by Refer Friends link at the top right in your Hotjar account.
Once your referrals qualify for a prize you can expect an automated email with instructions on how to claim your prize.
Still waiting for your prize?
Due to the need to validate referrals, it can take up to a month before prizes are sent out. If it's been a month and you've still not heard from us, feel free to contact us to follow up.
The leader-board resets each month so every month brings a new chance to win a prize.
Disqualification
We value the hard work our users invest to teach, share, and promote Hotjar our engineers have developed a robust system for detecting and tracking cheaters.
Users who refer fake, invalid sign-ups or use a VPN are flagged and disqualified from entering each month.
