If you're looking to exclude internal traffic from your Hotjar Analytics tools (Heatmaps, Recordings, Funnels and Forms), you can exclude IPs. This article will help you exclude ranges of IPs by using Regular Expressions. If you're unfamiliar with Regular Expressions and would like to learn more, we highly recommend taking a quick crash course here!
To get to your IP settings, click on "Settings" in the upper right-hand side then select "Blocking IPs" from the drop-down menu.
Using Regular Expressions in Hotjar to Block IPs
Here are some common ways to block IPs using Regular Expressions in Hotjar. The examples below use local IPs. Please remember that when using IP Blocking, you should use public IPs.
Simple IP match (single IP)
192.168.0.1 or 192\.168\.0\.1
Both would work since in regex, the "." character means "any character".
192.168.0.14 - 192.168.0.62
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.0.255
