There are two different methods for adding members to an Engage team, and the method needed will depend on when the Engage team was created.
- How to join an Engage team via Hotjar Insights (for Engage teams created via Hotjar Insights from November 2022 onwards)
- How to invite someone to a legacy Engage team (for Engage teams that were originally PingPong accounts)
We suggest asking someone in your Engage team if you’re not sure which type you have.
How to join an Engage team via Hotjar Insights
Admins are not able to add team members
These instructions are only to be followed by the team member.
If the Engage team that you want to join was made via Hotjar Insights, then you can add yourself to the Engage team via Hotjar Insights.
Log into your Hotjar Insights account.
If you don’t have a Hotjar Insights account, ask a Hotjar Insights admin in your team to invite you by following these steps.
Navigate to the site you want to join.
Once you’re logged into your Hotjar Insights account, navigate to the corresponding site for the Engage team you’d like to join using the site selector.
For example, if you’re looking to join the Engage site named ‘John’s Test Site’, search for it like this:
Click on the Engage icon.
You will now be added to the Engage team, and you’ll be taken to the site which corresponds with the site you were just viewing in Insights:
How to invite someone to a legacy Engage team
An admin on your Engage team will be needed to add you to the team
The following instructions are written for the admin of the team.
Go to the Members page under the site switcher.
Enter the team member's email and click Invite.
If the team member already has an Engage/PingPong account, they will be added to your team as a collaborator automatically, which you can see on the Members page:
