AB Tasty is a platform that allows you to run Experimentation and Personalization campaigns. With Experimentation, you can test and measure which versions of your pages produce the best results for your objectives. You can create and manage tests like A/B tests, Multivariate, and Multipage tests. With Personalization, you can modify a part or all of your website for a specific segment of visitors. You can personalize your users' journeys and deliver dynamic experiences to specific audiences.

How to enable the AB Tasty integration
In Integrations, choose the Site you want to install the integration for, find the AB Tasty integration, and click Connect.
Turn on Automatically mark active experiments to enable the integration.
How to filter session data by AB Tasty campaign (Observe)
You can use the AB Tasty integration to filter session data for Heatmaps, Recordings, Funnels, Dashboards, and Trends.
Click Add filter and select AB Tasty.
Add your Campaign.
You can search for the campaign and select it from the list.
Why can't I see any pages listed?
We will only receive AB Tasty pages and variants when at least one session has been captured. If this is taking longer than expected, ensure that Session Capture is enabled.
How to target a survey for an AB Tasty campaign (Ask)
Visit the Targeting section in the setup of a survey.
If you're creating a new survey, see our How to Create a Survey guide for further help.
Within the Pages subsection, select Specific pages and choose Event in the dropdown menu.
Enter the Event value for your page and variant using this case-sensitive syntax: page-name-variant-name.
For this event value syntax, special characters and whitespaces are replaced by hyphens.
The event name is also case-sensitive. For example:
- The page name is Sign up and the variant is Variant A, the targeting event value will be:
Sign-up-Variant-A
- The page name is landing page 2 and the variant is variant 2, the targeting event value will be:
landing-page-2-variant-2
Click Save changes and ensure the status of your survey is Active.
Your survey will appear when the event you've specified is present on a page. When using events for surveys, your behavior rules will still be followed. For example, you can set a survey to open after 10 seconds and use an event for targeting. In this case, the survey will appear 10 seconds after the event has been triggered (not 10 seconds after the page loaded).
Use cases for the AB Tasty integration
- Evaluating a CTA experiment
If you run AB Tasty multivariate experiment, you can test multiple versions of a CTA (e.g., colour, size, or copy) to learn which one converts at a higher rate. When the experiment is complete, AB Tasty reports tell you which variation won. To get deeper insights and understand why one outperformed another, you can filter heatmaps and recordings to see how users engaged with each variant. You can compare heatmaps to see which CTAs visitors engaged with the most or which ones they scrolled past. Watching recordings, you can see how visitors navigate and interact with CTAs and where users hover, hesitate, or run into issues. These insights can help you understand why users preferred one CTA over another and give me more confidence in the final result.
- Testing a conversion flow with a reduced number of steps
If you want to reduce cart abandonment and improve the conversion rate on the checkout page, you can use AB Tasty to set up the experiment to test the impact of reducing the number of steps to purchase on the checkout page. Using the AB Tasty integration, you can trigger an exit intent survey to display when users go to exit both the control and variation pages. This allows you to capture more information about what isn’t working on the page and helps you identify more ways to improve. You can also watch recordings of each variation to understand better the visitors' journey and where they’re getting frustrated or running into issues. These insights can give you a greater understanding of the visitor experience and how to improve on future iterations.
- Creating a personalized experience for the user
You can use AB Tasty to personalize the user journey for specific audiences to optimize conversions on your website. You can launch a personalization campaign offering discounts on a new product line to visitors who made a purchase in the last 30 days. You can launch the campaign to 50% of the audience to see if there is an uplift in the variation vs. the original. If you filter recordings, you can compare behavior between both segments, observing how users interact with the discounts, where they get stuck, and if they run into an issue. With heatmaps, you'll get a quick overview of what content visitors are engaging with or if they’re scrolling past the offers. You combine these insights with the AB Tasty report for a better understanding of what impacts conversions, where to improve the UX, and whether to personalize the journey for the entire segment.
