When creating a survey, you can select from different types of questions to ask your users. This article provides more detail on each type of question.

Reaction
Reaction questions display a scale of five graphics, letting users quickly give a reaction response to your question.
Features
- The question is customizable.
- The low and high-score text labels under the graphics are customizable.
- You can select from one of four graphic types: Buddies, Smileys, Emojis, or Stars.
- You can add an image that will be shown above the question that users can also click on to open a new tab. Images can be up to 2MB and will be rescaled to 300x200 px. Only JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP files can be added.
Long text answers
The long text question type lets users leave an extended written answer in a multi-line, scrollable text field.

- This question type enables sentiment analysis and automated tagging.
Short text answers
The short text question type allows users to respond briefly in a single-line field.
Features
- The question is customizable.
- Responses can't include line breaks or multi-line entries.
- If the response is longer than the length of the response field, users can scroll horizontally, but all text is contained in one line.
- You can add an image that will be shown above the question that users can also click on to open a new tab. Images can be up to 2MB and will be rescaled to 300x200 px. Only JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP files can be added.
- This question type enables sentiment analysis and automated tagging.
Email (with validation)
This question type only accepts a response that is an email address, using the __@__.__
format.
Features
- Response validation checks the email address format. It doesn't check if the email address is connected to an active inbox.
- The question is customizable.
- You can add an image that will be shown above the question that users can also click on to open a new tab. Images can be up to 2MB and will be rescaled to 300x200 px. Only JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP files can be added.
Radio buttons
Use a radio button question to let users select only one response from a set of shown responses.

- The radio button question and set of responses are customizable.
- You can randomize the order of responses.
- A comment field option can be enabled for one or more of the shown responses. When a user selects the response, a comment field appears allowing users to provide more detail for that response.
- You can add an image that will be shown above the question that users can also click on to open a new tab. Images can be up to 2MB and will be rescaled to 300x200 px. Only JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP files can be added.
Checkboxes
Checkbox questions enable users to select multiple responses from a set of shown responses.

- A comment field option can be enabled for one or more of the shown responses. When a user selects the response, a comment field appears allowing users to provide more detail for that response.

1 - 5 or 1-7 Rating scale
Rating scale surveys present a question over a rating scale, asking the user to choose between 1 and 5 or 1 and 7, depending on which scale you use.

Net Promoter Score® or NPS surveys provide a 0 to 10 rating scale. Your survey results will give you an overall Net Promoter Score for the last 30 days.

Statement
Adding a statement question lets you show text to a user without providing them with a response field, rating, or selection option. Users see the title text and an optional description.
