On the 17th of October at 17:30 CEST / 13:30 EST, our engineers identified an issue which was causing analytics tool data (heatmaps, forms, recordings) to not process.
Why did this issue occur?
The issue occurred because of a pile-up of queries on our database that caused a logjam and slowed each other down or completely halted things.
What effect did this issue have on my site?
This had no effect on any user sites.
What effect did this issue have on my data?
The issue caused some data to be delayed in processing (for heatmaps, recordings and funnels), but no data was lost, and processing has since caught up.
What are we doing to ensure it doesn’t happen again?
We have deployed code that makes our processing use the database more efficiently, easing the burden on it so that the logjams don't happen.
