You can deactivate a Feedback widget or Survey by switching the status from Active to Inactive in Hotjar.
For the Feedback widget, this switch is located in the upper right area of the widget screen on the list view. Click on the toggle with the checkmark to turn off the Feedback widget.
How to hide the widget after collecting a response
The Feedback Widget is a persistent element on your page when set to Active and if a visitor responds to the widget, it will still remain visible. If you'd like the widget to disappear for a specific website visitor after they respond, consider using Surveys that can be configured with a frequency setting.
How to hide the widget on specific pages
You can set up a Feedback widget to only show on specific pages, based on the URL a user visits. This will make the widget only appear on pages that match your URL condition and therefore not appear on pages that don't match that condition. There is a delay between Hotjar and your live site
Removal of the Feedback widget will not occur immediately. There will be about a 1 - 3 minute delay before the widget is turned off/on.
Keep in mind that setting up Feedback is part of the on-boarding process, so it is common a widget was created if the onboarding prompts were clicked through.
