Pair with Google Analytics
Pairing Hotjar with Google Analytics is something we love talking about. Check out Hotjar vs Google Analytics? Why You Need BOTH for insight on why. We believe using GA or similar analytics tools that focus on granular traffic data is a great way to complement the behavioral insights Hotjar captures.
To help you decide what sort of User Journeys you should focus on with Hotjar, you can map high traffic pages on GA, using their Funnels, and drill into the User Experience with Recordings, Heatmaps, and even Feedback tools to figure out what your users really want.
Direct Feedback from your users
User Feedback is the best way to tell exactly what your users think and feel about your site. For that reason, we have a set of tools that can also help you gauge why your users are dropping off your forms or funnels by asking them directly.
Incoming Feedback gives your users an easy way to reach out to you with suggestions and even bug reports. We’ve received insightful feedback into some of the features our own users would like to see from us by using this tool, and we recommend that you give it a try, especially when testing new design changes or new features.

FAQ
What happened to my forms and funnel data?
Forms and funnels were retired on December 14th. Both tools are no longer collecting data on customer sites and existing reports are not available in the UI.
How can I track a funnel journey using Hotjar?
Using Hotjar Recordings and their powerful filtering capabilities, you can effectively track a user journey across different pages of your site. Grouping these Recordings as a segment allows you to get valuable insights into a particular funnel that you want to track. To learn more, you can check out our article on How to monitor a funnel with Hotjar.
How can I see how users interact with a form on my site?
With the use of Heatmaps and Recordings, you can get visual insights into how users interact with forms across your site. Heatmaps show you which form fields were clicked and how often. Recordings allow you to see how the user completed the form, so you can identify any areas of the form that could be improved.
