You can set up email notifications within Hotjar to let you know when specific events occur, such as a charge being applied to your Account, or a daily report of responses from a Survey.
Ensure you receive notifications by allowing Hotjar's email addresses
All billing-related notifications will come from payments@hotjar.com and all tool-related notifications will come from noreply@hotjar.com.
Daily and weekly email summaries
You can enable email notifications that can inform you about the performance of your website across different Hotjar tools.
Go to Profile > Notifications.
Choose the notifications you'd like to enable.
You can customize the following settings:
- Daily summary emails: Hotjar can send you a summary email for your survey responses every day.
- Weekly summary emails: Hotjar can send a summary of activity on your sites every Monday. It can help you stay on top of how your site is performing across your heatmaps, recordings, user feedback, and survey responses. You can pick which sites you'd like to receive these emails for:
Billing notifications
You must have Account Owner permissions to perform these steps. To see who the Account Owner is, visit the Team page while logged into Hotjar.
In addition to the Account Owner, billing notifications can be received by other team members by adding their email addresses on your Invoices page. The Account Owner can follow the steps below to set this up:
Click your profile image and select Billing. Then, on the next page, click Invoices.
This will take you to your Invoices page.
In the Billing and invoices made easy box, click Edit.
Enter the additional email addresses, then click Save.
All email addresses listed will receive future billing notifications starting from the next issued invoice.
Survey widget responses via Slack
The Hotjar Slack integration can be enabled to send notifications to specified Slack channels when new Survey widget responses are submitted.

Marketing emails
You have full control over the types of email communication you receive from us. When you receive an email from us, you can edit your preferences at the bottom in the following ways:
- Update your email preferences: Click to choose the updates that matter most to you, for example, product updates, tips, or Hotjar activity insights.
- Unsubscribe: We respect your inbox space. If you'd rather not receive marketing emails from us, click Unsubscribe for an immediate opt-out.
